Brenda L. Hagan

Brenda obtained her MSN from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing as a Family Nurse Clinician in 1980. She has worked as an FNP in such primary care settings as Student Health, Employee Health, HMO ambulatory care, Urgent Care and private practice. In these job situations, she found that her male counterparts and physicians did not enjoy providing women's health and noted a trend among female patients in requests for female providers. Subsequently, she shifted the focus of her practice to Women's Health Care where she has practiced exclusively since 1990.

Currently Brenda is in private practice providing Women's Health Care in Fredericksburg, VA. She provides care to all ages but sees a large portion of Perimenopausal and Menopausal age clients. Because of this, she has developed special interest in Hormone Replacement Therapy and incontinence. She has provided tips to the NP Central website and presented at the University of Washington NP Conference in September 2000.

Additionally, Brenda owns NP SHOPPE, a resource providing NP imprinted items for NP's which grew out of her interest in increasing NP visibility and is the Program Coordinator for the VA Council of NPs, Fredericksburg chapter.
